Yes, in my opinion. I feel comfortable pointing out that mybb forums quite literally has world class moderation without any fear of being accused of currying favour because I honestly never have. I've always sort of kept my distance from the mods because I'm just naturally anti-authoritarian. Not in any idealistic sense. Just sort of in a bratty, fcck the police sort of sense.

And after almost 7 years of being a member here I really don't have a clue, or much interest either to be honest, as to how things are run behind the scenes. But for the significant part it all just works. It's not all entirely fair but it just wouldn't work if it was.

And in actuality, in the same way RPM seems to allow the mods a lot of leeway and discretion, the mods actually do allow us a lot of leeway. And, again, it works. We really do get away with a lot of shyte here. There truly is, in my opinion, way more freedom of speech on here than any other mainstream news channel in the country. Or at least in a format that isn't complete and utter, free for all, chaos.

It really is an amazing thing. And every time we bitch and moan about fairness and wah, wah, blah, blah we really are acting like spoilt children. Bog knows I've done it. If johnny get's a toy, I want a toy. O ffs be grateful you have so damn much in the first place.

And of course there needs to be a bit of dissent and input, there's room for democracy there, but seriously day after day of seeing the same thread petitioning to have some oke who showed our thing no real respect, reinstated, getting longer and longer is actually pretty offensive to me.

I think it's the first time I've agreed with EVERYTHING you've said. That aside, it's true, we do get away with a lot of shyte here. Even if it does hit the fan ito an infraction, there still exists an open channel to the mod in question to state your defense. If it goes south, so be it......play your innings and don't be a sore loser - 'losers always whine about there best' hahaha.

I honestly don't know. I'm actually too socially retarded to learn any societal rules without banging my head repeatedly before they sink in more or less permanently. And in all honesty in real life I've been around long enough that I actually am quite likeable and know how to deal with most people, even though I still am very much that social retard. Believe it or not.
So ja, how on Earth I survived on mybb long enough to learn some sense of etiquette I'm not really sure. I sometimes suspect that despite the occasional unfair (in my eyes at least) infraction, I may just have a guardian angel up there somewhere who took pity on me for being so thick.

On the other hand I still have a pretty strong reputation for being pretty damn nasty and I used to think I was pretty clever at being insulting and offensive without actually providing anything someone could point at as insulting or offensive.

Again, I don't know maybe it's a weird talent for sarcasm and vitriol crossed with aspergers like social cluelessness that turned me into a 7 year veteran against all odds. Just like these weird combination of random dysfunction that happened to favour survival on mybb. I wonder if I have children and this weird combination of social traits was passed onto them if we might not see the gradual evolution of a new human species uniquely suited to survival on internet forums?

But actually, Eks and I mean this in the nicest possible way, your blundering, that annoyed me so much when you first got here was pretty horrendous although I'm not sure you did very much that was infraction able. Perhaps cluelessness is somehow a good survival trait on mybb.

Then again, perhaps not. Perhaps us few very lucky survivors are vastly outnumbered by those dumbshytes whose blinkered stupidity basically sent them all the way to the bottom of the membership heap or just got them banned.

The bottom line is, I bring things up when they concern me, don't demand or expect answers, although I might express my vague displeasure at this, and fully accept that this is how the site works. I think I often enough point out that the mods and rpm are for the most part running a great site, and doing it right, if they were not, I don't think I'd have spent so much time posting here.

i don't feel like i ask a lot of people either, i mean i don't even care if people's views differ or what they are or do, but i've come a cross so many pathetic people lately that it's ruined my whole experience of mybb. all we wanted was a reason to ask why clint was deleted and we didn't even get that. eventually PD and CA are going to be gone too with all the whiney little RBPers

It would be all for the better. The logic of not allowing new members to post is fail in light of the fact that the biggest trolls are located there. If anything I think it actually gives them a false sense of security they don't have on the rest of the forum.
