Let me say this, when we moved in here 10 years ago the area was mainly old folks (especially this street) and some youngster. Most of these house are Communicare houses with a few like ours which is not. Over the years the rowdy bunches started moving in and the older folk moved out and then the influx of blacks came from across the border and settled all over this area and everywhere else and that's when the k@k started. Drugs dens etc are springing up everywhere.

Dude, I lived in that area as a kid (40 years ago). It has always been bad. White/Black/Alien no difference...common people are common. White thugs tried to beat me up many a time there.

It also depends on the area here cause you have Brooklyn which is one side of the road and Ysterplaat on the other but like I say, 10 years ago this place was ok but over the last few years it has got worse.

A few years ago I started a thread about how we witnessed someone shoplifting and how they were doing it in front of us and we reported them and they were caught, well all hell broke loose and I was accused of various things and that I should have basically allowed it, and other people were getting into a heated debate and the whole thread was deleted.

These things happen.

So I am merrily going on about my business and I hear a police siren going off in front of the house so I go and have a look and 2 cops have pulled a guy over and they are looking at something in the front of the car. The cop asks the driver why he is driving on the road (so I assume there must be a problem with the front of the car), and the driver says something and the cop starts swearing at the driver and tells him he must stop talking nonsense (I am using a clean word here), and the guys keeps on that he lives around the corner and the cop keeps shouting at him that he is lying etc. They ask to check the boot and all the time they are talking and telling him that he should not be on the road and that they do not want to see him on the road in that car.

I did not see if they asked for a drivers license.

Just this minute heard that there was a murder in our road. Boyfriend with a violent history stabbed his girlfriend when she tried to break it off I believe. Both were adults and not that young.

Now we have a haunted house on our street.

I used to make money parking cars in my driveway for the Air show now I can do the same and take people on a tour of the haunted house.
