Yeah it's a Chana Buzz, no I'm not going to buy it. Yes I know it's a Chinese goedkoop stuk ***.

I'm curious though, what's the cheapest car you can buy brand new from a dealership in South Africa?

It has to be the Chana Buzz?

Not 65k as in I own 65k Rand, that's just the lowest new price I can find.

To be honest I know a decent new car will cost about R100k at least and that's entry level. Like an i10 or Vivo etc.

    What do you guys think?

I bought a Motomia Java 170 a years ago. It broke on day 1, I sent it back and got one that lasted me 14 months and 3 crashes. Went like a trooper. I put it through hell, the odd one or two issues showed up but the entire scooter costed me about R2500 in those 14 months and that's including service costs - replacing CVT belts.

So I don't mind buying Chinese, as long as I don't get the ***. All these crap stories you hear on the web about them are true and they happen to some people and don't happen to others.

It looks very nice in the images.

Ya, but if you ask me I'd rather just buy a second hand with known reliability, the costs of maintenance and low value degradation will never cost the same as buying new. Extra free cash in the pocket.

True, but it could be a fun thread?

I could only find a Chevy Spark and a Hyundai Atos for under R100k.

Everything else like the Vivo or the Figo is R100k+ even for entry level.

You'd have to be totally mad to spend 65k on a new car... Buy a decent reliable used car rather.

Yeah I agree, I'd rather buy a second hand Subaru Impreza or Mitsubishi Lancer for 30k more

I would not buy anything below the Geely LC1.
