I think it's new territory for MWeb as Telkom have thrown the cat amongst the pigeons here with the new 2Mbps lines.
I don't think anybody would argue with the fact that MWeb have built a very happy uncapped clientèle after a initial rocky start (everyone was on a learning curve back then) and they are now faced with a situation where their user base will play musical chairs.
Some 4Mbps users will downgrade to 2Mbps and some 1Mbps users will upgrade to 2Mbps at the same time as a lot of happy ex-384Kbps users start moving more data on their new 1Mbps lines.
Definitely a tricky one for the bean counters working on the new account cost/performance analysis.
Bye MWEB! Hello Afrihost!
yup, they will cash in as long as it takes--and also charge the 1 month notice period fee; MWEB can surely do better.
You could try to apply some pressure by all submitting termination requests. You can always reactivate the service before the termination if necessary. If everybody does this then you might force them to rethink their pricing.
1 month notice applies irrespective...
If it gets to August with no change, then I am also out the door.
easy to leave afrihost--just cancel before 25th of month--all online.
nothing wrong with mweb, just the price of data--fix that and we all happy.
I still don't see the problem with mweb prices. I feel I get value for moola. The problem I have with pricing is 1) telkom line rental 2) telkom adsl access, those need to come down then I will be completely happy.
With Afrihost's uncapped I will save in the line of R300 p/m. With that saving you HAVE to try it out. Gave my termination notice to Mweb yesterday.
Soos 'n choppie op die vuur.
Comon MWEB, surely its not that difficult.
