I'd go for the Samsung 51" hd ready. Same price practically.. But u got media support and great pq according to ppl's reviews.
This plasma looks ok, but know jvc isn't what it used to be
How about this one http://www.takealot.com/electronics/...series,9762569
Yea I highly recommend the bravia's. Not necessarily all of the fancy features you'll never use, but it's got probably the least amount of input lag and a brilliant engine!
EDIT: Aaaah! I see the one you're looking at is plasma... that changes things. That's not a bad price for a plasma!

Much better deals out there, for example 200Hz 3D LED SmartTV for R500 less ...

Stay away from JVC, Nu-World the distributor in SA sucks donkey balls!
entia non sunt multiplicanda praeter necessitatem
Damn PostmanPot taking TV's seriously!
Good advice FTW!
And you base this on what, being neither an owner nor someone with detailed 1st hand experience with this set?
On my D6000 there is noticeable improvement in motion detail with both Motion Plus (DSP frame interpolation) and LED Motion Plus (synchronized LED backlight strobing) enabled, in comparison to just Motion Plus on its own.
Semantics, the backlight strobing adds the equivalence of an additional 100hz.
This combination solution actually provides superior motion resolution to the older method of only relying on (higher clocked) frame interpolation, in two ways. Firstly it avoids the additional artifacting from generating more interpolated frames and secondly it hides LCD's slow response times by turning off the backlight LEDs during the instant of transition.

I've seen the jvc's in action at direct deals in woodmead. I suppose lighting conditions in the shop didn't show the reality. But just my 2 cents. Presentation/quality and the media feature of the jvc were not great. Go have a look for yourself, even if under showroom conditions, put a jvc next to a Sammie and a Sony - and make sure they connect all 3 directly to a bluray player playing the same demo. The answer is right there![]()
