    So, why is salt bad?
Salt is fine if you don't overdo it. Same with a lot of other things.

Today I noticed that cheese typically contains around 20% saturated fat, and 3% trans fat. What are your thoughts about this?

If you like it eat it. You can only drive yourself crazy worrying about this stuff.

Saturated fat helps produce testosterone, it's fine. Trans fats (also know as hydrogenated fat) you should rather avoid.

nothing wrong with the saturated fats, at 3% I wouldn't worry about the trans fats

Naturally occuring trans fats are good for you... EG: Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is both a trans fatty acid and a cis fatty acid. The trans fats you want to avoid are produced using hydrogenation, which I can't see them using on cheese.

What type of cheese (cheddar, tussers, etc.) is the least unhealthy?

What make you of pre-sliced, processed cheese? My mom says to stay away from processed cheese.

If it's processed throw it out! If it's not, have it for lunch

do you really think you know what you are talking about here, or do you just naturally go on a personal attack when it comes to nutrition?

Your mom is right. Try keep that attitude and limit as much processed stuff of all types as you can. If everyone could do just that we'd be so much healthier.
