Thread: Decent GPU for ±R2200

    Default Decent GPU for ±R2200

    Hi

I'm basically looking to expand into the horizon of BF3
I'm afraid my little 9500 has finally become somewhat outdated

What is the best that I can do on a R2200 budget Nvidia wise?

There is one thing that does concern me, and that is my current PSU. It is a 500W No-name brand (that has lasted me for 6 years with no problems so far). Not sure if I should upgrade?

    My current specs:

    CPU: Intel 2600K
    Mobo: Asus P8H67-V

    Thanks for the help

go for an amd 5770 you wont need a beefier cpu and it handles bf3 with finesse....can get them for a couple hundred bucks.i.e less than R1000

I'm not an Nvidia nor ATI fan...but I was in a similar boat, and opted for a GTX 560 as the above poster reccomended.

All I can say is WOW, I do not see the need for a faster card as it handles everything exceptionally well....(for now atleast)

    You won't regret it! :P

You need a new power supply. As power supplies age their output current decreases.

Yeah, I'm thinking along the lines of
    • Corsair GS500 Gaming Series 500W
    • Coolermaster RS550-ACAAE3 GX Series 550W

Is the Coolermaster worth the extra R90?

    EDIT: never mind, it is.

No it isn't. Get the Corsair.

I ordered one last week and arrived yesterday. Everything about it just oozes quality.

And it's a rebranded Seasonic so rock solid.
