    Hey Hey

I am using elitehost for my wordpress hosting.

No problems in the past year and for R29.99 a month for 1 site unlimited local hosting... I cannot complain. http://www.elitehost.co.za/hosting

With your post-count mercurial, you can get free hosting from Domaincheap, as long as you link them in your signature here on mybb... will find link or you can PM LinoMan here for details.

For me Godaddy has done pretty well, so my experience says it is the best option.

Just a warning about elitehost, allthough they seem to be a good host. Weekend and Afterhour support seems to be non existent. This is ok as long as noting major goes down. (Currently I am having a site hosted on a server where the http service is down for at least 2 hours allready (since i discovered it). They don't offer telephonic support only email which does not seem to be attended very well after hours.

I am currently contemplating of moving my site back to international hosting where i know I will have 24 hour support within minutes. I think South Africa is lacking on that.

I would like to host locally, but i expect the same support locally as overseas.

Edit: Seems the problem has been fixed, but I am still worried about support turn around time

I used to host all my clients websites with GoDaddy and let me tell you their support turnaround time (largely due to them being in the states) and automated robotic canned responses were terrible and useless. In the end I had to look in their KB to find an answer to my problem or even Google. In the end I stopped using their support as it was a waste of my time.

IMO it really depends on the provider and not based on the country.
