Hardly the move you want to make when taking on the might of England on home ground.

Not surprised AB has been called up.
With the bat Thami was the fourth highest run getter locally, with only Faf, Alviro and Ontong getting more. So he definately has form with the bat.

Default Thami Tsolekile called up to test squad

Confirmed that he has been called up...

Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Wednesday announced that bizhub Highveld Lions wicketkeeper Thami Tsolekile has been added to the Proteas squad for the test series against England which starts at The Oval in London on July 19.

Do you think it might be a bit much asking AB to keep and bat at 5? I would put him down at 6

No. He is our best batsman and must bat as high as possible. If the top 4 get off to a decent start he will have sufficient recovery time.

If there is a bit of a collapse, then JR can move up one.

If AB is strong enough I like the look of your team... wish there was a spot for Tsostobe

Depending on the weather and pitch conditions, he (or De Lange) could replace Tahir.

We take on Kent at 12 in a day match, weather forecast looks grim with rain predicted and a max temp of 16°c

Hoping the weather holds up as we need the match practise.
Alviro also looks set to return and AB will have the gloves.
