Nope,

It applies to 50's and 100's (that's the only thing they count anyways).

His score of 311 counts as
1x50
1x 100
1x 200 but a double century isn't an "official measure" so the century above sticks.
The century is an official measure so the 50 is removed once he hits 100.

No, he can't. A half century is a half century. A hundred is a hundred. A double hundred is a hundred. A triple hundred is a hundred. A Sachin is a hundred.

I find it surprising that they didn't allow him a chance to get to 200. I think they should given him say 3/4 overs to do it. There'd still have been enough time to pick those 3/4 wickets.

I don't think you can go back to your declaration argument tomorrow, even if we do have to bat to mop up the game. That we got 4 wickets in a full session completely trumps (in my opinion) having an extra thirty that the english aren't even gonna bother trying to chase down on the board.

There is no guarantee that a later declaration would have seen us pegging 4 back by the close of play, and any way you look at it, 4 wickets down looks a lot better than 1,2 or 3.

Amla on the declaration: "We saw the wicket is good to bat on and we'd rather have a lot of time to bowl and chase whatever we have to than bat on for 10 or 15 overs that we may need later on."

Good to see SA play some "risky" crcket instead of letting the Pomms of the hook.

The english batting out (saving) two tests in SA is still to fresh in my mind.

Bopara is batting for his position out there because he does not look like a genuine test no 6.This is despite some good scores against the WI.
I suspect that another failure and they'll have to bring in Nick Compton.
