I was wondering if Smith could not have been a little more attacking with field.

I hope that Smith, Alviro and Kallis have no niggles big enough to keep them out of the final test.

I think the Bowlers are a bit too loose in general and I hope Amla and Alviro's miscommunication was a once off, but other than that we should be golden.

Missed most of yesterday’s play. Did we lose wickets because we were trying to push for a target? I ask because I have just seen this piece from the Telegraph

Aug. 7 (Telegraph) -- Andrew Strauss is able to look forward with optimism to England's last-ditch defence of their world No 1 Test status at Lord's - despite their frustrating near miss at Headingley.
Bad weather, which wiped 72 overs out of the second Investec Test, prevented the hosts from levelling the three-match series against South Africa before next week's finale.
Seems to me it fails to put in context that had there been 72 overs more in the game, our 2nd innings would have been constructed differently. What happened yesterday was a consequence of having lost the 72 overs?
Do NOT construe anything I type as advice

Yeah the usual biased pom nonsense. We would have constructed our 2nd innings differently had we not lost those overs.

Well they stopped chasing after losing Prior. There were enough overs to still go for it. Why didn't they?

We could have a lead of a billion and he still wouldn't.

So KP is apparently considering retiring from test cricket. May not play the last match at Lords.

I wonder if he'd throw this hissy fit if he didn't do as well in this test. He is trying to blackmail them into letting him have his way.

    Was thinking the same thing

Well if the pomms had one more middle/top order batsmen that was steady they could kick KP to the curb.

second controversy now and after 5 years he's still their premier middle order batsman.
I wonder what he want's exactly?

He wants special treatment. Allowed to play the full IPL while keeping his place in T20 & tests - as it is he was forced to retire from T20 by retiring from the ODIs. He says it's not about money but everyone can see through the bull****. How does spending all that time in India equate to more family time? Plus the English set up allows WAGS to tag along on tours.
