Thread: Killed my kindle.

  1. #1

    Default Killed my kindle.

I know others have posted on this before, just thought I would add my experience thus far.

Sunday I killed my kindle, I called them yesterday, the new one is on it's way and my old one is on it's way back.

Should have a new one before the weekend, Yay

They will reimburse me for the courier charges as well, pretty awesome and easy service

    Thanks Amazon

first strike was the kindle having about 18 eggs break on it (inside a plastic packet) then lying in the egg for about 20 minutes before I noticed.
2n'd strike was my wife dropping everything out of my bag onto tiled floors (including my now deceased 2TB drive).
3'rd strike was me trying to fix the key.

    Is that covered by warranty?

Mine one day I turned it on and it said There is an unrecoverable error, please contact support, my wife bought it from Incredible so I had to go through them, what a bloody nightmare. Their headoffice was like yup that's replaced almost immediately, the store I took it too was like no it has to go in for repairs and yadda yadda.
Do you hear the voices, too?

    Apparently so
told me to send out mine, sotred out my credit card details and I have a new one on the way.

Didn't actually open it, just pulled the front plastic cover off (it's just stuck on with double sided tape or something), still not exactly sure how that managed to kill it but any way.

Of course, haven't you read the "accidental damage by eggs" clause?

LOL, while walking past the incredible on my way to the post office, I was thinking about how glad I am I never bought it from them.

    Thanks for the verification

Bought mine in the UK. Screen cracked here. Called them they shipped one immediately with something like 60 days for me to return the old one.

    Amazon customer service = superb.

When living in the UK I almost exclusively shopped on Amazon and eBay....except for groceries of course hehe

Hey AstroTurf, could you please give me the number you called? I took my Kindle out my bag a week ago and the screen's gone all funny.

makes no difference where you purchased the kindle from, you could still contact amazon direct re warranty issues.
