Hey guys,
Looking for a NAS that's not going to cost me an arm and a leg. Not looking for anything fancy, just want to use it for labbing purpose, so anything that can support, say, 2 x 2TB drives will be just fine.
Any suggestions?

I have been using the Netgear ReadyNas. Quite happy with it. Can stream Media to iTunes & my DLNA devices. Has the usual features too (FTP etc). Cant recall what it cost tho?

i7 2600K @3.8 | GA Z68P-DS3 | OCZ Vertex 4 256gb SSD | 8Gig 1600mhz Vengeance | GTX670 Windforce | Antec H2O 920 | CM 600W Silent Pro M | CM HAF 922 | 27" IPS
The HP ProLiant Microserver with unraid is an economical solution.
+1 for the HP Proliant Microserver, but i'd use freeNAS as an OS.
Axiz were having specials last week for R1399 for the Proliant server. Insane...
MOS 6510, 1MHz | 64K RAM | 320 X 200, 16 colors max | ROM BASIC | External 170K floppy drive | SID 6581, 3 channels of sound
So turns out I was eligible for a free Starwind iSCSI software license because if my VMWare credentials, which actually works really well for what I want to do so far as a lab is concerned.
That being said, that NetGear looks really impressive, especially the media streaming capabilities. Might get one of those in any case along the way.
Thanks for all the input guys, much appreciated :-)
I use Synology ... very happy with it! DS411j
HP Proliant Microserver, best solution..
42 yrs of Apartheid (1948 - 1990) + 22 yrs of BEE, AA & EE (1990 - 2012) = 64 yrs of sanctioned racism in SA, I hope my kids will see the end of it.
