I can't remember when last I watched tv. But you can get away with buying a massive PC monitor with HDMI input which you plug into your pvr.

They stopped sending me mail after that.

    Oh the awesomeness!

Is the 10 Commandments for Christians?

It seems that if you don't owe them any money they are quite helpful. After I got married I mailed them the marriage certificate and requested that my wifes TV license get cancelled and the next day I received confirmation that it has been cancelled.

2years back I had to pay them like R4k after not paying for 10years and the VVM threats started.

downloads are planned and waiting for when i want to watch. an episode of a series only takes like an hour to dl anyway. 480p streams just fine, even with DLs running in the background

There's your problem right there! Simple mistake many men make it, nothing to be ashamed of.
If you can read this... you can read.

I also thought it was a mistake (at first) but she wanted to give it a go and has her own income, so why not. All I have to do is make a "contribution" now and then - new car, overseas holiday, that sort of thing. I only run a debit card which comes straight off my bank account, so council rates for various houses, c/card bill are her concern.

I do keep my eye on investments, it is only household accounts and bills for rental houses that she takes care of. I used to have to do everything, then she met a friend who's husband was pretty useless at paying bills, so she decided to do it. At first it was a year, but now its been 8.

The SABC and their attorneys can take a hike as far as I am concerned. They chased my daughter (moved to the UK in 2001) for 9 years and threatened summons, etc. Eventually, I found the email address of one of the partners in this VMM crowd (more big time w@nkers) and emailed him some straight facts about how he was wasting everyone's time and sent him a photo of my daughter standing in front of Big Ben. That seemed to sort things out.

Or start blacklisting people on ITC, then when you want to but a car or house or anything on credit, BOOM! Not saying they do this but being effectively a government department, they'll want to squeeze money out of you somehow. I mean, look at how effective SARS is at taking our money. One day the SABC might start looking at alternatives for turning the screws and non-payment of bills, fair or not, can be a stumbling block in the future.

I'm surprised by the patience of some folks. After explaining myself once I would have told her to go to hell.
