Thread: Cat (burglar) intruder

  1. #1

    Default Cat (burglar) intruder

We are having trouble with a cat coming into the house and stealing our cats food... We felt sorry for it when it started to come in so we put some food out for him.

This was a mistake because now he won't leave.. And our other two cats are not very impressed. This afternoon I just heard the cats screaming hell and when I got there all I saw was cat piss and hair everywhere..

Our male cat is 14 and he loses in the fights... And we have a 5 year old female both are fixed..

How do we get rid of him..

Does it have a name tag? If so then contact the owner...

If no tag then catch it and take it to the SPCA.

Catch it and take it to anyone who can scan it for a RFID tag (local vet or SPCA). Then have it sterilised.

I think it might be a stray cat... It has roughness beneath its fur... Not afraid of humans or our dogs...

Will it help of I spray it with water?

Funny how these visitors come more in winter than summer. We have a ginger Baby that comes. It upsets our 3 extremely. I have started to close the window my cats use to go out in the evening. I will in about a week start to open a diffrent window on the other side of the house... Not that I think it is needed. They get into bed and stay there long after we have left.
No I'm not rude, just honest.

Yeah, I remember when I was younger our neighbors husband got 16 stitches by spraying another neighbors cat with water.
    Good luck.

kwaai katjie! I wouldnt be angry if my neighbour sprayed to with water. I rather have neighbours with water than poison.

I was shocked, don't recall any anger. Not from the cat story anyway

Get a cat-flap (micro-chip version so that your cats can come and go as they please) and if it is really a stray cat, try and get a pheromone collar from the vet - it will calm the intruder down and make him more docile.

Ah thank you that's very smart.. Our cats climb out at a different window at night, the same one that the intruder comes in... But I'm sure it does not have a home.. Or its owners do not feed it, because he finishes all the 3 bowels we put out...
