    Lets hope so.

I hope the quality of the local produced product is as good or better than the imported units.

Have samsung products improved? I've had bad experiences I don't trust anything Samsung. It looks like Sammy will rule SA I wish Sony was this stragetic.

I have a number of Samsung appliances, Plasma TV and monitors, and all of them have not given me a day's trouble. Oldest item is the fridge (about 6 years) and newest a monitor (about 1.5 years).

I have 3 samsung tvs and 6 samsung monitors at home, as well as a samsung home theater and samsung cellphone. Ages ranging from 4 years to a couple of weeks, all of them working flawlessly.

According to Samsung SA the new monitors that will be introduced into the market will be full LED monitors that are energy efficient, incorporate 3D technology and provide less screen lag.
I'd also like to see some 24" entry level LCD units for around R1,600 incl as I would have thought the market for high-end monitors was limited.

I certainly can't justify the current R3000+ price tag to my clients for office use.

A few months ago MyBB had 2 articles about how Samsung TV's would be dropping in price, did that ever happen?

I've been wanting to buy the LS27A950D and after being out of stock for a while they are now back in stock for about R7000. I wonder how long it will take before these locally produced monitors are available to buy. I guess I will just have to wait a bit.

There won't be import duties on the monitors now, so the tax shouldn't be that bad.

Never had any problems with Samsung either. Hopefully it will stay the same now that they make the monitors locally. Not sure why there would be a drop in price though? Unless the entire monitor is made and assembled by machines.
