    Default 3G tether

Don't u just tether it thru bluetooth with your phone to have 3G/HSDPA? That way its using less battery on the droid too..not sure has someone experience with this?

I do this all the time, but apparently some people do not like it(Extra drain on phone). I can understand their view, even if I do not share it.
.... and thanks for all the fish.

That's not the case at all. How many Gingerbread tablets have we seen? Honeycomb was undercooked and it negatively affected the perception of the first batch of tablets - the Xooms and Galaxies. ICS was an improvement but they still aren't cutting the grade as far as tablet application support goes.

In my case, I have both the Eee Pad TF101 + keyboard and the original iPad. I prefer to use the Eee Pad purely because of the software but I have to admit I hate the build quality when I compare it to my iPad that is a year older, and cheaper. In simple terms it sucks donkey balls, nothing about horses in there.

And I can say the same for all the other crap that came after it, dont even get me started on Sumsung's lack of updates or the Acers bulky size.

This is the OEM's doing, nobody else.
Well all that is OEM's fault yes. But do you think any of them can produce a decent tablet at the $200 price point? KF is as good as it got previously and that's not an OEM product. Only by completely eliminating the profit margin of the OEM's can you get anything close to that price level.

Mid September will see me holding the 16GB version. It may not be the best tablet out there, but what you get at that price...just wow.

This is what I do (not from the car though) . I just carry the mifi with the tablet.

How did you shipped it? Or do you ship via a friend in the US?

Family member that lives there is kind enough to bring one for me. (Belated birthday present sees me walking around like this now.) Only thing I'm wondering is whether I'll be able to make use of the $25 included :-/

I see one of the cost cutters on this device was no SD card slot. The second is that the use of OTG memory devices was deliberately excluded from the OS, even though OTG supports keyboards and mice.

It certainly looks like you will want to root it on day one if you want to use it for anything requiring large amounts of data.

This may be a dealbreaker for me, I may go for the Samsung 7.7 P6800/P6810 instead (even at double the price).

I believe that the P6800 works with 64GB microSDXC, which means that it can support 80GB of memory.

Lots of hardware complaints all over the net, specifically concerning the screen. Too early to tell actually how widespread it really is I suppose - statistically within acceptable parameters or cost cutting repercussions?

Its an Asus product, they always f up on screen fitting.

Redoing it fixes the problem, and 9 times out of 10 the screws where not tight enough..... yeah I know its crap but at least you can a fix it or b swap it out.
