Thread: I want a Galaxy S3. What are my options ?

  1. #1

    Default I want a Galaxy S3. What are my options ?

    I am trying to keep my monthly cost as low as possible.

    I have narrowed it down to the following :

    * Cell C = R499pm with 100mins/sms/megs
    * Vodacom = R369pm on business contract (no mins, but with 250MBx24)
    * MTN = R334pm on MTN talk 200 (R200 airtime pm. this reduced rate is due to corporate agreement with mtn)

    obviously, the MTN contract is the standout here. Seems like the best value for money. but does anybody have any comment on MTN service and call costs ? What happens if i do not use up the airtime? does it carry over continuously ?

    The Vodacom deal says
    Includes 250MB Data FREE for 24 months

    Can't really say as I don't know how you use the telephone but it seems like a good deal if you are disciplined. Just make sure that you get 250MB / month for 24 months & not just 250MB once off.

    Depends what's more important, keeping the monthly costs as low as possible, or having no pay in. For the lowest monthly cost, take the cheapest contract and pay in the 3.5 k or so cash. Works out the cheapest by far over 24 months as well. Them just add data bundles if and when you need them.

    Well if you support MTN you support a corrupt company that assists totalitarian regimes in oppressing their populations.

    Straight up 30. I just checked with the guy in our offices that manages our CellC subscriptions.

    The MTN Airtime carries over for up to 6months. Very useful. I'm on that package.

    Yes, but you'll be coughing up extra cash over and above the R334 for data.
    Since you cannot use this airtime for data bundles I think the roll over means much less than its worth.
    For instance, I have R1000 airtime sitting in my account, but that will only get me 500mb's.
    Best thing is to find somebody to call and speak to really long, thats the most value you'll be able to get from rolled over airtime.
