Google docs (Soon to be Google Drive) is free.
Not aimed at everyday home users. But I know quite a few businesses that can't wait to leap onboard.
The real value is for guys who don't want to buy an Office Professional Plus 2010 license and already have hosted exchange at another service provider. It's a no brainer since the larger options come with a free desktop license for the normal desktop version of Office Professional Plus 2010 and Lync/Sharepoint etc.
we've been on Office365 since 1st June. Used to be MS Online Suite, and MS have been nagging us to migrate since March, then gave deadline of 1st June.... guess the companies who dont move on to 365 are holding Microsoft back coz they have to run old and new services.
We're part of European comany, so naturally Office365 has been available for Europe for quite some time.
But even now, local companies will use the foreign servers.
But service has been good, and available everywhere u have internet, on laptop, mobiles, and even a web-access.
Our guys in France didnt take up the full package with all the services, like Lync and Sharepoint online, at least to start with, come later.
Of course there is a price per user, but no mail server to buy or maintain, and other support, for a proffessional service, worth it.
naturally, as with many other companies, the migration from MS BPOS to Office365 wasn't all smooth sailing... took the first few days to sort out some issues, but at least MS provides full support.

We use Office 365 for our startup, and it's been brilliant I must say! Took 30mins to set up, and we've got Exchange + Active Sync, SharePoint and unified communications... For a ridiculously low monthly price?! You can't argue with that!
Not having ANY servers, admins or bandwidth requirements pretty much mean we get more time and money to spend on things that matter, and I for one reckon it's well worth it.
Btw I agree, this is not aimed at home users.

yip for business its very good.
probly easier to start directly with this, than to migrate from another existing service. Although, the biz support from MS is very good also.
we're part of global company... EMEA and USA went with Office365, Japan with Google Apps... Office365 still better, and, would u believe, cheaper overall too...
