    Default WiFi

the adsl rooter is in my room
my mom's room is about 35m away and there is a wall in the way

but on hir phone it picks up the wifi (only one stripe)

    i have a mega wr105 (from telkom)

    if i get this

    sitecom-wl-031-wireless-network-omni-antenna-10dbi

will it get a better stronger signal and will it fit in a wr105

the main resion is my mom want to connect hir pc to the wifi

this is the adapter that will go with it
    http://www.takealot.com/electronics/...dapter,9303453
    trendnet-150mbps-mini-wireless-n-usb-adapter,

do u guys think it will work?

i am outside in a "granny flat"
we have long lan cables atm but it gives lots of crap
so i want to connect it in wifi

or will just the adapter pick up a better signal than just the phone?
in that case ,i can save money by not buying the stronger atenna

    thank you

    1) rooter => An enthusiastic devotee of sports a.k.a. A sports fan.
    2) router => A device that forwards data packets between computer networks

I assume you want option (2)

    Start by reading this:

If the WR105 has an SMA Male Plug, then it will work. Check the manual which is probably on the CD which came with the router.

I prefer using these types of aerials:

    http://www.d-link.co.za/products/?pid=ANT24-0700

Because they come with a long cable which means that it can be moved around to obtain the best signal.

You can also contact Poynting (http://www.poyntingdirect.co.za/) as they are aerial experts & can offer you good advice & the correct product.

I would recommend that you put the cabling into some sort of conduit to protect it from the elements. It isn't expensive & easy to install.
