Megaupload founder Kim DotCom still faces extradition battle

The suspected kingpin of an Internet piracy ring still faces a battle to avoid extradition from New Zealand but the case against him has likely been weakened by a ruling that search warrants used by police were illegal, experts said on Friday...

These guys are fighting a losing battle when it comes to online file sharing. Be it legal or illegal. They should find ways of embracing the phenomenon and making money off of it. Cheaper movies (drastically reduced pricing) via torrent download and even pay if you like models should be implemented. I know it sounds far fetched to appeal to the good nature of mankind, but it could work if the price is right...

    Notice the dramatic language ..

The suspected kingpin of an Internet piracy ring
Dotcom led a group that had netted $175 million since 2005 by copying and distributing music, movies and other copyrighted content without authorization.
    Then read the reality ..

His lawyers say the company simply offered online storage.
The US case is weak so they're hoping for a trial by media by painting Kim as a gangster. His past doesn't help, but they try & make it sound like he personally smuggled all those files over a border somewhere. I hope he counter-sues them and wins.

I hope this blows up in the faces of the US government and agencies involved.
