You do realize that SAT3 ends in Portugal (Lisbon) and that from there it has to choose a cable system to get to London? If EIG was the one chosen for service, South Africans still see it as SAT3 even though it is not, it is just used as part of the so called SAT3 back-haul product. SAT3 itself wasn't actually down, its been other cables the whole time.
Now you are correct about one thing, it wasn't SAT3, and that should have been communicated correctly from the get go.
