Ja but it doesn't roll off the tongue quite as smoothly.

To avoid being caught by the government, drifters paint their faces and come up with pseudonyms when they appear in the uploaded videos. They use pseudonyms such as al-Motahawer (the reckless), al-Erhabe (the terrorist), Crush, and Joker. One video of al-Erhabe’s drifting was viewed over four million times.

They also resort to using rented vehicles to dodge being tracked down by the police. “In some cases, drifters steal cars,” Mutairi added.

Al-Akhbar tried to contact some drifters, but they declined to answer questions out of fear of exposing themselves.

“I don’t understand why they film themselves doing such a thing and brag about it,” Feghali said.

“It’s crazy, they’re doing something illegal and dangerous, and many people have died because of it and they seem to be proud of themselves...If they abandon their illegal tafheet and race in the CPD, they can show their skills, compete with professional drivers, and get exposure since there will be a lot of media coverage,” he added.
Why cover their faces then and using rented vehicles then if it isn't illegal?

    Edit:
Saudi Arabia, which follows a strict version of Sunni Islam, does not have a written penal code and judges issue verdicts according to their own interpretation of the Koran.
Then again some judge might say the Koran doesn't allow drifting.
    I've made a huge mistake.

They do some insane stunts though, saw some vids on youtube and there was a show about stunt driving in Saudi on that motoring channel on dstv.

Even the women are doing it :

A 30-year old Saudi wife identified only as Kholoud was arrested for doing stunts in a car in Makkah at 3 in the morning.

According to reports in several Saudi newspapers, the woman had her car flagged down because she was doing various stunts on the road which were dangerous.

The reports added that the wife took advantage of her sleeping husband and sneaked out with the key of his Toyota Corolla car.

A bystander then called the police and reported that car was driving in a dangerous manner and doing stunts.

The police patrol moved and found it was a woman who was driving the car and the stunts, while dangerous suggesting she had professional driving experience.

They summoned the husband who was reportedly aghast because he did not know his wife could drive at all.

Major Abdul Mohsen Al Maiman, press spokesman at the Mecca police said in a statement that the husband filed a complaint against her and signed an acknowledgment that he would not allow his wife to drive the car again.

Backward? I support this 100%. South Africa is one of the most dangerous countries in the world. Saudi's are klapping it!

See now if only the same sentences were handed out to criminals in this country, then maybe things would be a bit better. However, I'm not completely sold on the sword thing (although it is very GOT).

A death sentence for accidentally killing someone is a bit harsh.
can he appeal this sentence in Saudi Arabia?

If driving recklessly is against the law then at least these people agree with the ruling

"Felony-murder" - Killing someone while in the process of committing a felony. Note that at common law, there were few felonies, and all carried the death penalty. For example, at common law, robbery was a felony. So if a robber accidentally killed someone during a robbery, the robber could be executed.

But you cant compare reckless driving with armed robbery.
That in itself is a miscarriage of justice.

    2 innocent people died.
Drunken driving is dangerous, if a drunk driver kills someone, they should cut his head off imo!
