I'd recommend Hunters Craig if you absolutely have too. I've visited people there and in government nut houses. The government ones are Cuckoos Nest type shyte.

I always thought it was private, compared to the others it looks private. It might be that it's a voluntary admittance instead of the others been involuntary. Maybe that's why it's a lot better then the rest I know of.
Tara is where you go for milder treatment.
If you are a danger to society then the court orders that you get locked up in sterkfontein or similar.
You can even book yourself into tara if you wish to get rid of an eating disorder.
