Mother City were not promoted as far as I recall. They were created to fill the league. Seven Stars and Cape Town Spurs had merged to form Ajax Cape Town and after the relegation and promotion process that left the league with 17 teams and they needed 18. Mother City was created out of the scraps from Seven Stars and Spurs and what you got was the worst team in PSL history.

True, but Hellenic were nearly 50-years old when they went under and I find it sad when the older clubs die off. It's nice to have clubs with rich histories.

Rangers were founded in 1928, making the club 78 years old when it went bang.

Thought so with regards to Mother City.

Really? I always thought Rangers were one of the newer breed of clubs to emerge in the Natal. Then yeah, that is a travesty.
