    Default how to allow incoming Connections on mtn

    Guys how do I get my MTN modem so it allows for hosting and incoming connections?

    I think you have to contact MTN and ask for your number to be 'unrestricted'.

    So I called 173 and after holding 10min they said 'they can't do it but I must call 083 1555' so I did ... and after holding a hour... the guy tells me' sorry sir we can't do it u need to call mtn business' now ill wait till tomorrow

    I think you have to ask to be provisioned for the 'MTNVPN' APN.

    Thank you for contacting the MTN Support Team,please advise client MTNVPN apn is not available for Pay as you go and Top Up line.

    Should you have any problems don’t hesitate to contact us on 1555.

    LOL, i would also like to know how to unrestrict the ports, because it seems i am unable to allow RDP or VPN through and ive added a DMZ and forwarded ports, to no success

    If its feasible you can install LogMeIn Hamachi on all the PC's you need to link up and then have full access via its VPN.

    The Hamachi VPN IP address remains the same as well, but its going to be a bit slower than tunneling in directly off the internet.
    It is however really simple and works a charm.

    Hamachi works well, there is just the issue of latency - so depending on what you would like to do, it is not always ideal. But much better than nothing.

    @OP, so you are happy now with the unrestricted APN? Any benefit, other than being able to have incoming connections? Maybe I should request that on my MTN account too... Could make a few things a bit easier....
