Vodacom R5 for 60 minutes promotion

Vodacom has unveiled its ‘Power Hour Promotion”, offering its subscribers 60 minutes of on-net calls between 6am and 6pm on weekdays for R5.

Quite nice, but there are some issues:

    1. You have to buy a special voucher for this, dont know why they couldn't just make it that you get billed till you hit R5, and then you dont get billed until your 60 mins is up.
    2. Buying a special voucher for this is a problem already and then you have to buy a voucher on the day you want to use it, not like you can just buy a couple vouchers at a time
    3. How do you know how many minutes of the 60 mins you have left?
    4. Again, only prepaid customers benefit - giving the finger to post paid guys

    Overall quite complicated

Why didn't they just make this deal automatically come off your prepaid account. I definitely won't go all the way to a store just to get R5 airtime.

Lets just snub our valued customers who have given us thousands of rands and pass it on to the 12 guys who don't have cellphones yet.

Is this available to Top Up customers?
In South Africa even the information superhighway has potholes on it.

What a complicated 'promotion'. Most of the time not even their con-sultants understand the terms of these promotions.
I am very pleased with Cellc's service thus far. Been saving a lot since moving away from vodacon.

    Very nice promotion!!

For those noobs that dont know how to buy the voucher, dail *111#, select option 2. No need to go to a shop to get the voucher, it`s on your phone

Are you living in the stone age? Just buy the voucher from cellphone banking on the day you want to use it. (FNB *130*321# or fnb.mobi) Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. R5 for what at a stage would have cost over R180.

There is also a restriction on the purchasing of these bundles and when the airtime can be used. “Power Hour promotional bundles may only be purchased on weekdays once per day between 6am and 6pm and used between those times of the day of purchase,” Vodacom stated.
And you gotta rub your tummy and pat your head at the exact moment you enter the voucher number. And hop on one foot.

    Utterly ridiculous restrictions.

On the other hand, you can just use Cell C, 99c per minute, anytime, any network, and to 34 countries. Are you reading this, VC?
