Default Irritating Missed calls from some guy asking you to punch in a USSD code

I have been getting these irritating miss calls at random hours (including 1am, 3am etc). The calls come from 081 601 1020.

Normally i ignore if people don't leave a message etc. But i have received so many missed calls from this person, i called back.

When you call back you go straight to voicemail and a guys says "This is an urgent urgent urgent message, please dial *120*354*2#

I have no intention of entering this USSD code.

Anybody been having the same missed calls etc? Anybody know what the USSD code does?

8ta reps, please see if you have get this guy to stop - he must be doing this to a lot of people - and if this code does something like deduct airtime or something, thats not cool.

USSD codes can be used for revenue sharing just like subscription sms's, so it's probably a scam to con people out of money.

I told Junkmail (big ad on Junkmail) that these people were con artists as they call at all hours, but they ignored my email and their ad continues. I will call them on the phone tomorrow and give it a bit of stick.

8ta will do nothing, I would put money on it. Its not their concern, Cannot you add this number to your unwanted calls list? I recall seeing something about it on this forum

Thanks for this reminder. I can actually add numbers to an unwanted calls list. Done

With the latest phones you can download apps that block numbers - do this.

Go your call logs then select the "add to reject/blacklist" option for the number you want to block
