Thread: Ponte Towers

  1. #1

    Default Ponte Towers

    All i can is WOW.

Some of you might not know, but Ponte is currently being revamped and is available to rent. They have cleaned up the entire building, removed all the loafers and criminals and drug addicts, removed all trash from the middle and around the building.

I helped my mate move in on saturday. 52nd Floor, 2 bedroom, both with ensuite bathroom. The flat is fully tiled, kitchen has awesome wood cuboards, granite tops, there are chandaleirs for lights and the view is absolutely incredible. Can see Midrand ALL the way round to the west rand. They have beefed up security, its next to impossible to enter the building if one of the owners are not with you, fingerprint scanning, CCTV. All this for R4500 per month.

Shop space is availble. Average shop size will cost R3700 per month which is stupid cheap, i think if you can provide a service the tenants need, you can make a killing.

It's still a bit dodge getting in there as you have to drive through the outskirts of hillbrow(just off joe slovo).
    Cant upload photos from work

I have heard about this awhile ago..

Thought it had fallen through, but its good news that there are people renting, and that rent is pretty bloody amazing actually.

    Hillbrow.

Yes, that entire area is getting a revamp. Lots of buildings in Braamfontien are getting the same revamp.
Soonish it will be a decent area to live in again.

Yep they've kicked out all of the **** causers. Honestly, i would still not move in there just yet as i do not feel safe in the area, but hopefully in the next few years it will be lekker.

I remember the story of the guy parachuting down the centre a good few years ago, and the dude at Ellis park who got shot and the bullet's origin was traced to Ponte.

We'll keep them out this time.

There's no reason they should be if there are scrupulous and competent rental agents involved.
A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day.

    Yep, that is the tower

If the security guards dont become corrupt and start letting in strangers, then it will stay awesome.

Our business is in Jeppestown, very close to Ponte... and the Nigerians have taken over the three storey building opposite us.
They are converting it into residential flats ... with no plans or compliance whatsoever.
We contacted the council and they have confirmed that no plans have been filed.
We are hoping their legal team acts quickly, but....

The place will fester and rot from the inside again. All it takes is a couple of units rented to the wrong crowd. The wrong crowd and their cronies spread through the building like wildfire and we're back at step one.

At the low prices they're renting for, the wrong crowd are bound to be interested.
