Exclamation 'Jesus Of Nazareth' Proposed Film Angers Christians With Depiction Of Jesus As Result

The Daily Mail reports the movie is based on the book "Jesus of Nazareth" by Paul Verhoeven, the Dutch director most famous for his films "RoboCop," "Total Recall" and "Basic Instinct," will also direct the movie version of "Jesus of Nazareth."

The most controversial aspects of the book and future film include a portrayal of Jesus as the child of a Roman soldier who raped Mary, a depiction that is contrary to the profession of faith by Christians that Mary was a virgin. The story also discounts the common biblical teachings of Jesus performing miracles, the resurrection and of Jesus' divinity.

Don't know what the big deal is. The movie is from another point of view. What wrong with that?

Outrage is a profession to many. It's a sentiment to the emptiness of their heads, and of the boredom that permeates their lives.

Yeah his version of it seems much more plausible than an old geezer scribbling away in a cave

I think christians are more concerned with the director than they are with the story.
He'll make doubley sure he includes lots of blood and tits in the proceedings.

Always preferred Monty Pythons life of Brian myself. Far more believable.

There's loads of that in the bible so that can't be it.

You also confuse immaculate conception (Virgin Mary was kept free of original sin from her moment of conception) for virgin birth as I have before being corrected by Arthur.

People, people, it is a fictional film about a (until otherwise proven) fictional person.

Imagine how pee'd-off aliens must be at film depictions of them being violent/stupid/ugly/ignorant/etc.
