Thread: iBurst phoned me to offer I change to a different package

Default iBurst phoned me to offer I change to a different package

This morning I got a call from an iBurst representative. He explained that iBurst are restructuring their packages and they would like to change my 2 GB per month package, which costs R 198 per month, to a 5 GB per month package, which would cost R 134 per month.

It sounded good so I agreed.

It was only at the end, after he verified my information, that I caught something about the new package being a 24 month contract, whereas I am currently on a month-to-month package. I then asked not to be changed to the new package, that I would like to stay with the old package.

Perhaps I wasn't listening properly during the conversation (the line was not good), but I didn't pick up earlier in the conversation that they wanted to put me on a contract. I was under the impression that the new package was still a month-to-month package.

Perhaps this was a bit sneaky of iBurst. I just thought I'd give the heads-up.

No I think your line was fine, but can they legally put you on a contract without a signature?
    Sneaky.
There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't.

You are still paying R198 for 2GB?

Have you seen the current pricing?

You could be getting 5+5GB for R149 or 10+10GB for R198.
