I was supposed to meet a muslim guy tomorrow night but he cancelled saying its a holy night.Perhaps the OP can shed some light on this.

Islamic date 15 Shabaan known as Laylatul Bara’ah - night of records or Shab-e-Baraat night of freedom basically a night if you ask for forgiveness from allah, you will be forgiven - unless your sins are certain major sins

What would qualify as major sins? Reason I'm asking is that I met a Muslim chic a few weeks back, and she sent me a few nudes on Friday (don't ask). Is that a forgiveable sin, and if not, under what circumstances would it be forgiveable?

But I'm genuinely interested because she mentioned this as being a holy period, with fasting finishing in August, and she's not allowed to go anywhere in the near future etc.

Well, how religious is she? She could just be like most other religious people who cherry pick which parts of their religion they actually bother to practice.

I think that would be a major sin but not an unforgivable - of course things get compilicated if allah so chooses he can forgive even those

If she's a sure thing (if that means what I think), then she can't be too committed. Similarly, if 'sure thing' means something more innocent, then the long-term prospects can't be great, seeing as though you're a godless heathen.

The first one (coming out of a divorce and not looking for anything serious). But I guess you get people from all religions who either go all out and take it very seriously, or those who take the more important events and milestones seriously.
