Guys, where can I buy a playbook in Pretoria/Jhb?
Preferably a brick and mortar shop.
Thanks in advance.

I am not too sure of people who stock the BB Playbook. I know that Vodacom has it but they will kill you with the price. I also know that Telkom Direct also had it but you had to sign a contract with them to pay it off monthly (suppose this works better if its expensive). I would suggest getting it via an internet store and asking for either insurance or overnight delivery if you worried (like I am) when getting electronics via the net. It didn't really take off here. Oh! Just remembered that Nashua has it as part of a deal, perhaps they selling it as well? Worth a shot.
Didn't really take off anywhere, lol. The thing thats killing it are the seriously limited amount of apps. And then the apps they do have are crazy expensive. No one wants to develop for it since it looks like the company is about to go pop.
Na I dont think I have turned on my playbook for about 4 months...

You can get it on Amazon for less than 2k
I was considering it an option as well because of the free 3G and price. There was a way to install Android apps on it but I haven't actually see it work so can't confirm.

I suppose there is that. But really what you save on the tablet you will spend on apps. There is no real way to run droid apps on the thing right now, although they may release a hack that will allow certain droid and ios apps to run.
Rim have officialy removed the ability to run droid apps using their player. It sucked anyway and hardly any droid app publishers where "repackaging" their apps to run on the PB.
Rather buy a kindle fire. Its about the same price and size and can run 90% of all the native droid apps.
Edit, it seems that Rim have not yet removed the droid player, but they have plans to, and its buggy as hell.

If its under 2 grand that its a steal.
Playbook is lame compared to the alternatives. Biggest waste of my money in the last year. Luckily I got most of it back when I sold it.
if you can get it from the states its about 120$, id buy it just to have itplus im a diehard BB fan :P
