i have this "mailwasher" program which all my emails come through before they go to my email box. this is to get rid of any spam junk. i was getting these emails telling me i had won some lottery. so i decided to let one of these emails come through and i responded with 2 words.............F OFF. haven't received another email since then. 2 or 3 weeks ago i received an sms that my phone had won R250 000, again i sms'd the same 2 words in reply. i'm done with all this rubbish i'm getting. if these people want to continue thinking i'm stupid then they can receive a lovely email back from me where i won't be polite anymore.

I've had weeks of (sometimes alcohol-fueled) fun with some of these clowns. It got so "bad" they wanted to sue me!

I replied with something which I will not reply with as I will get banned. I also reported the mail to the FBI.
Since doing this my spam on gmail has increased consideably

First things first, the return address is (in most cases) either forged or spoofed, and in some cases, belong to a genuinely innocent person whose email address is being used by spammers. See Joe Job.

Secondly, insulting somebody by email might result in an unwanted lawsuit coming your way.

And last, but not least, in some cases it will only mark your email as being active.
