End of the month is rapidly approaching. The question is, will the 8ta internet be usable ...

    Congratulations!
You are no longer on our brand new MTN network!

Same here in Lyttelton Manor, Centurion. Ping speeds very variable & sites often fail to finish loading. Must be because it's end of the month again.

I have given up with 8ta. The service is terrible, the internet is brain dead slow and is not usable. I was going to open up a contract but i think i will rather go to cell c and spend that bit extra getting RELIABLE AND GOOD INTERNET.

Can someone from 8ta plz respond to this thread.. Test and customization on your network was suppose too happen. We will not know if anything has/was done on 8ta's behalf as we are not getting any updates.. Last night I had 400+ ping again on internasional sites.. from about 7pm till 11pm.

What is being done about this issue. I agree that 8ta has good ping /latency during certain times of the day but at night it changes completely.

Another issue is supersport live. I can't even watch rugby . recommended line speed is 512kb line. but for some or other reason things just aint working.. youtube seems fine but supersport is a NO GO.. Is this a peering issue?? even my work internet which is a 384kb line delivers better streaming on Supersport.com.

    GIVE US FEEDBACK PLZ...

    Hi all

There are changes being made to 5 sites in the Western Cape this morning. Also 2 major Core changes will be happening which has been identified to resolve the high ping and latency queries. The Core changes will happen over this weekend (11/12 August 2012).

If you guys still have issues by Monday, PM us your current case numbers, or if you have no case number, log it with us by completing our template.

    Regards,
    Social Media Team

Since Friday I've had horrid latency issues to the UK. Can't play WoW. Have to use Vodacom.(which has worse signal at my house than 8ta!).

I've submitted a form. Now just to wait and see how techs come out to my home, all while the fault is clearly on the 8ta network..

    Edit:

    Just to prove it -

My internet speeds have finally dropped too what it is suppose to be, my diablo 3 ping is now stable at 220ms , much better than the 400ms ping i had. Let hope everything is resolved.

Thank you 8ta for fixing(hoping) this issue.. I shall keep you updated when and if this problem occurs again...

My ping constantly spikes , 8ta is useless. When I phoned you apparently were working on the network yet there's no improvement 4 months later and I constantly get spikes of 1000ms. This service might aswell be free.
