I would kill just to get to either of those speeds at any time.

Not sure if this can work but what about having a gaming apn? You restrict the download speed to say 50kbps and all the gamers can dial up with that apn for a smooth experience at all times.

You can even start a gaming promo

My experience with 8ta's latency is it's mostly around 40-80ms which is good enough. It is for the most part very stable for me other than this recent problem. It can rain even hail outside and i'm still good

Hi 8ta, is this going to affect all areas or just certain areas?

    Hi there

All areas unfortunately. There should be no break in service at all.

    So... Interesting!

Downloaded HSPA Locker as recommended on another thread, and here are the results - I did 2 traces right after one another, one with HSPA Locker and the other without. See the results, and I will give you 2 guesses which one is which

So clearly there is a problem with the switching between HSPA and the idle 3G mode, it clearly has a delay in realising when 'stuff is happening'.

The pings are acceptable when at it's best, but not during gaming.

    Hope this helps 8ta

    EDIT: For reference, PingTest.net results:

Trace 1 - with HSPA Locker:

    Trace 2 - without:

    Astonishing!!!

How is it that the very night that the problem is supposed to be "resolved" that the whole crappy ping during peak hours gremlin comes to haunt us again, after nearly a week of it being fine?

Yep, Montgomery Park, very high latency, not switching over to HSUPA from 3G for looooong periods before pages start loading.
