What hell would that be? Have you also made up you own version and accepted it as truth or are you thinking of someone else's?

You really are incredibly weak minded on these issues Ekstasis. I don't want to be rude but it must be difficult not having the ability to think.

Original version = its a place for all the dead, regardless of life lived. New Age = place of fire.

Cost of sin is death ie: none existence, only the ones who are "saved" live forever, so to be honest its a win win for both camps
Indeed. Sheol is the resting place of the dead, no judgement. Gehenna was a place outside Jerusalem where lepers and criminals were sent to die, which eventually became a metaphysical place of damnation. Nowadays these 2 terms are translated as Hell, with all the medieval fiction added on top.

    Hehe yep.

I like how you go to a place of fire and brimstone, except you leave your physical body here. I wonder what hell would be like without a central nervous system.

To be more precise, you think this of anyone who does not subscribe to your particular religion.

You're confusing purpose with preference. However it could be said that choosing how to live your life, give it/you purpose.

Are you saying the only torment man can suffer is to the flesh?

Fire, brimstone and central nervous system are the operative words

Atheists have much more fulfilling lives than theists because they don't waste time praying or thinking whether their deity will approve of their actions before they go do it. If you add up all the time spent by a theist thinking about his/her deity over their lifetime it will add up to quite a bit.

So if there is no god, theists have wasted a large portion of their lives.
If there is a god then it makes absolutely no difference to atheists since the afterlife has no influence on anything going on with the current lives of both atheists or theists.

Thus atheists have a greater probability of leading more fulfilling lives simply because they have more time on their hands to actually do things that influence other people's lives for the better.

What hell would that be? Seriously?? I'm a Christian Spizz - Christians tend to believe in the Bible and this Bible talks about hell Spizz. Like Muslims will chat to you about virgins and what not in the afterlife....'cause that's their belief etc etc. Not sure what you want me to say.

Sorry for letting you down Spizz, I forgot how "strong" minded you are.

I'm sorry for being rude, it was uncalled for and wasn't really my intention.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Christians talk about and imagine hell as the place modeled on Dante's writings. Why would they do that? You even posted some American guys ramblings a few months ago about what hell was like and it's so obviously based on his own imagination. It has no basis in the bible, it's a man made story where we can trace the origins, but you and 'most' other Christians believe it as fact. I don't get it.

The Vatican are obviously laughing their asses off as they have basically made up your religion up as they went along, but why would you accept that a certain period of time passing equates to mans words turning into Gods word?

It obviously doesn't, but it appears to me that there is no thinking or reasoning going on in any shape or form, rather a game of Chinese Whispers down through the ages to the present day where no one questions where these things came from. Rather just accept it as the word of God when it clearly is not.

I mean, your religion seems based on the shakiest of foundations and no-one seems to care. Again, I just don't get it. Do you all just not care to know where it came from or are you all just so gullible? (there I go being rude again, sorry )

In this day and age of information at our fingertips 24/7, that one (or billions) would rather keep their head buried in the sand is the biggest sin of all.

    Which is why we're pro-choice.
A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day.
