Thread: Use JVC 32N310 as a PC monitor

Default Use JVC 32N310 as a PC monitor

As the title reads, I am thinking of purchasing the JVC 32" TV and using it as my PC monitor (the TV's model number is 32N310). Has anyone tested this or is anyone currently using this model as a PC monitor? I just want to know if there will be any complications using it as my PC monitor?

Always dodgy going for cheapies when you want them to connect to PC.

Stick to the tried, tested and trusted. Samsung LA32D550 is on special at Game or Makro (can't remember) for about R3,499. Great PC monitor. Just remember to Google "Samsung PC mode", you must enable it to get the TV displaying correctly as a PC monitor.

The problem with cheapies is that most do not have PC mode. This means post processing gets added to the PC's signal, enabling overscan and other such undesirables, which leave a non-crisp display, with incorrect colours.

Thanks for the reply. On the add it states it has "PC Input" but that could be referring just to the VGA input on the TV maybe?

I agree i have the 32" 550 samsung it is awesome as a monitor on one of my PCs. Spend the extra R500 and be happy ever after than regret not spending the extra money.

Probably, perhaps it would remove processing then.

But then you probably wouldn't want VGA in any case, DVI/HDMI is better.

I cant find the Samsung LA32D550. What I did find was the Samsung LA32E420/403 - anyone know if this one will work as well as the Samsung LA32D550? Or should I just continue looking for the Samsung LA32D550?

Nope, those are HD Ready. You'll want Full HD 1920x1080 for PC use.

Perhaps check with Tafelberg. I saw it advertised at Game or Makro this week, seems to have disappeared.

Perhaps check with Tafelberg and Hifi Corp? I saw it advertised at Game or Makro this week, seems to have disappeared.

Otherwise you will need to look for the LED backlit version with glossy screen (improves colour) and 20%+ premium, UA32D5000/UA32EH5000.

LG's also work well, so do Sony's.

Yeah saw that after I posted (don;t know what's going on with me head today???). Yeah looked on both Makro and Game website but couldn't see nothing. Will check out Tafelberg and see what they say. Going to look at other places too as that is the one I will get now, won't try anything else especially as there are people using it and are happy with it. If you happen to see it again please let me know.

What about the LG LK430 - http://media.hificorporation.co.za/h.../INS225_SA.pdf for R3499 (third last page)? Here is the specs of the TV: http://www.lg.com/in/tv-audio-video/...LG-32LK430.jsp

Would that one work or should I continue looking?

Pretty sure it would. Got a laptop? Take it along.

This brings up the discussion about LG's IPS panel tech vs Samsung/Sony's S-PVA panel tech. The jist of it is that LG has better colours (especially reds) and Samsung has better blacks and lower response time/input lag.
