How much data do you use / month currently?
With my GF's S3 and having internet at home and work its enough, as it will be for me when i get mine. Only time internet will be used is when we are driving somewhere or out. I might get the 500MB option but will see.

This does not look to bad at all.

What happens if I want to end after 12 months? Can I cancel it and just pay in the rest for the phone or how does that work?

    Data (500MB) R 69.00 R 1 656.00 R69 for 500Mb though cellc
    Calls (Top-Up 275) R 275.00 R 6 600.00
    Per Month R 539.00 R 12 936.00 24 months

Saving R 5 328.00 (if you choose FNB and Cell C)

I know its IPhone vs S3 but the "S3" package is still by far cheaper.
Thats if you will to move over to Cell C.

    Calls (Top-Up 275) R 275.00 R 6 600.00

iPhone 240 R 761.00 R 18 264.00 (based on similar current package(295*24), which I would look at configuring for myself)
    Data (500MB) R - R -
    Calls (240min) R - R -

Saving R 1 872.00 (if you choose Vodacom deal)
Counting bank fees is stupid, don't you use a bank, why count the most expensive option then if you don't have a bank.

    So deduct R120 * 24 = R2880

Now, your not operator locked, get out of the fixed minimum fee mind set.

    Calls (Top-Up 275) R 275.00 R 6 600.00 (Topup275 is STUPID, why pay higher call rates and a fixed amount)

For me R275.00 would be enough airtime for a year (I currently have to pay R389month for not calling tho so I can have a decent phone), I avoid phoning anyone as much as possible.

So a further R6000 saving there.

Data (500MB) R 149.00 R 3 576.00 (PLEASE don't endorse this and pay that for 500MB if people stop paying stupid fees for data the prices will adjust).

I have Wifi, and being sensible you have switch your phone to FNB's APN. I actually average less than 50mb a month (R15).

That's another R3216 off your price.

Total after 24 months buying the phone from FNB: R8040 vs Iphone R18 264, I save over R10k

Pick your operator, switch when you want, jump between monthly packages. The Service Providers usage profile does not match normal people.

"Clients also have the option to purchase a Prepaid Data SIM with 1GB of data preloaded for only R49. "
What do they mean by that?

I think you get a prepaid MTN SIM which has 1GB preloaded on it.

A bit off topic, i have a gold FNB credit card.
does that mean i can apply?

    FNB (Gold Acc) R 295.00 - R 7 080.00 (fixed 24 month)
    Data (500MB) R 149.00 - R 3 576.00 (p/m)
    Calls (StraightUp 100) R 100.00 - R 2 400.00 (p/m)

    Per Month R 544.00 R 13 056.00 24 months

    100 min, 100 sms, 600mb per month..

For someone who's been looking for a deal in the +-R500 range, this seems quite appealing.. Am I correct in my calculations though? (have wifi at home/work)

    Just ordered mine. Woohoo!

I have a load of airtime to use, but when that's done I'm going over to CellC month to month straight up.
