Nescafé Classic
I don't claim to be the world's greatest coffee conossieur or anything but I've always enjoyed Nescafé Classic as a fair better-than-Ricoffy/worse-than-the-expensive-stuff option. Lately though it tastes horrendous...truly ghastly. I'm convinced they've changed something. I know they have. It's bitter. It even looks different. And the granules now float on the surface more than ever before. Yuck! It actually tastes like decaf...but it isn't. I feel a brand change coming on.
Anyone notice this?
If you prefer instant coffee, try Douwe Egeberts.
Yes, it's a bit more of a hassle. But making this your minimum standard for coffee preparation will have you unable to drink instant coffee within days.
Has someone exposed you to real coffee recently? Because this sounds like my normal reaction to Nescafe Classic.

I agree, Nescafe Classic has gone bitter for me too. I'm no snob, but I have taken to waiting for a cup of filter coffee, rather than swallow that harsh stuff

I actually find the pricey stuff to be often quite pretentious and overrated. The people I used to work with a while back were always so proud of their expensive whatever it was...and I hated it. Battery acid was mild in comparison.

I've said it before on MyBB ... instant coffee[sic] is NOT coffee
Fresh-ground Arabica (preferably one of the Ethiopian Arabica's) is the only coffee to drink. The darker the roast the better (for me).
But if you absolutely have to drink instant, and have a totally unrefined pallet (.. and most likely also prefer your wine out of a 5L box), rather use Jacobs Kronung, or Douwe Egberts.
