Default Looking for 32" with LAN support to stream MKV/mp4/avi?

    Hey all,

Im looking for some quick options if possible to do the following, must have a lan port, must be 32", can be plasma(doubt you will find this size), LCD, or LED. Will mostly be used in the evenings when dark! Must be able to stream MKV/mp4/avi. It cant have thick size or top bezzle!

Anyone got any options, im busy going through makro atm but none specify RJ45 port?

    Thanks

Having a look now it seems you cant find one with a USB port, so then my second options would be one with WIFI, or WIFI via USB? It wont be used for HD media, but some of my SD stuff is in the MKV container...

Otherwise if you think this isnt going to work, then can someone recommend a dvd/blueray player that can browse network shares and play the same formats? Im sorta in a rush to get this done, need to find the stuff by the end of the day hence the cry for help! Blue-ray/dvd player around the 1k mark!

    +1

Strange that the D550's bezel is thick, I think my C550 is thinner although C550 was the better 5 Series, over the C530.

On a Pi? No ways. Performs flawlessly if you set it up correctly. I have a 2tb media share on another part of the network, and was able to stream an 11GB mkv of Avatar at full 1080p with perfect clarity. Even skipping and rewinding seemed faster.

Its faster than my normal media center (which also cant read network shares). If you want, Ill take some video and upload it so you can see how it performs?

If they could build Pi`s into TV`s that would be the bestest.

Very well. I recorded the boot up time on my pi into xbmc, and also how long it took to get to a network share and start playing the video. It was recorded in HD on my phone so uploading it now (file is 400mb and its at 5% now)... as soon as its done Ill show you what it looks like and how it performs.

Thats the one the 5300 is a smart TV so you can load apps on it plus all the rest of the stuff that that 550 can do both are great for networking, i have both and they work well with my micro server or windows 7 streaming movies over the network.
