In my experience, the best DLNA compatitibility with Samsung TVs is .... http://www.serviio.org/

Can't promise, dont have an E model, but supposedly should work with Samsung C/D profile.
Works great on my D model & has some nice touches (for DLNA) like downloading movie posters for thumbnails. Probably best feature is that you can edit the DLNA content sections presented to the TV e.g. if you just want to see a Movies & TV folder, you can untick all the rest.

Yea looks like it works okayish :P I just wish it could browse network folders dont really need another app running on my server! Or if i could browse my YAMJ html file that would be even better! I guess ill have to play and see what works! Maybe be selective of what content i share!
Hey Roman, do mkv files work? In the movies ive added so far only the avi files seem to work, earlier on though i added a mkv episode of house and it worked fine, but now none of my mkv movies are working for some reason? the MKVs play fine off an external HDD which is odd?

Eish do you mind explaining that to me? As i said the File actually does work on an external HDD so im confused that it doesnt work over wired network! All ive done is added the watched folders in the app and its scanning now.. Surely if the files play fine off an external HDD they shouldnt need to be encoded in Serviio?
NVM Shot a lot i didnt see the whole profile thing in the menu! Working now!
My last question is where does serviio store meta data and like images etc if you choose to download them?

On a side note: How the eff do you identify which TVs can 1stly steam the same way as this and have Ethernet ports?
My sister now wants one but she doesn't want to spend as much but she can have a bigger tv! So if there is something bigger and cheaper how do i identify it?
No real easy way, just have to check the specs. Would only trust Samsung & LG for format compatibility, but LG's entry models don't feature Ethernet/DLNA, so most likely its down to Samsung.
Not possible, the closest would be Samsung's 40" LCD model (LA40D550) from last year ... http://www.guzzle.co.za/specials/view/179235/

PS3Media server seems to work best for me.
Cool, whatever works best for you, though I've always got the impression the Serviio community focus more on TV compatibility while PS3MS on consoles.
While you're experimenting with the various streaming options, maybe give a Plex a spin for a major improvement in UI presentation (since you have a SmartTV). While the E models aren't yet officially supported yet (can't download for app store), you can get a hacked version which needs to be side-loaded via developer functionality.
