Default Where is the best place to get a Kindle

    Hi guys,

My Mom's birthday is coming up and she is a reading freak, so I want to get her a kindle. I thought I could get it from Amazon but it turns out US and UK don't ship kindles here. I know Incredible rip off has them but its almost R1000 more expensive than getting them from amazon. I have found this site Kindle and was wondering if anyone has used them? or does anyone have any other recommendations?

    thanks,
    Maximus

Of course Amazon ships them here, where do you think everyone on the forums gets theirs from?

Just make sure you click the link that says "For deliveries outside the US, click here", or something similar, in big, orange letters.

Edit: I see it's different now, there's a box where you have to select your country.

I would look into the implications of getting one in this country, although it's an android device, you are limited to what apps you can download and you don't have many of the features that you normally would, like the cloud.

    Found some info for you

I don't think he means the Fire (tablet) , just the normal Kindle (reader).

No question... the best way to get any kindle is though Amazon.

3 days and it will be at your door, and its the cheapest.

There's a link to international orders at the top of the Kindle page on Amazon, or else check out Bid or Buy.
I've bought Kindles from both places without issues.

I got my first direct from Amazon and the second from takealot (they can get the ad supported one from Amazon) - both experiences were perfect and I would recommend either.

I recently bought my wife's mum a 6" Kinde WiFi from amazon, cost me in-total R1375.
Took less than a week to get here.

Best price online from a South African reseller is about R1299 plus carriage -- and that's for the Special Offers version, which retails in the USA at just $79. HiFiCorp was flogging the non-touch Kindle 4 for R1499. But that's only $99 from Amazon, plus carriage. And unless you want a Kindle over the counter now now now (e.g. from HiFi Corp) then Amazon generally gets it here within a week or less.
