There was no discernable financial, emotional, or pragmatic motive for it.
Especially where they only killed one and left the other daughter.

I hope I'm wrong, but also can't shake the feeling of the parent's involvement. I'm suspecting (for no particular reason) that she accidentally died, and this was covered up by the parents.

I was on a Maddie forum but forgot which one and I said that Kate liked the twins better then Maddie because Maddie was a handful and the twins were much younger. What could have happened was that on the evening in question Kate had problems getting Maddie to go to bed and she might have hit her and the child hid behind the couch and next to the cupboard, both places had blood splatters if I remember correctly. When she finally was quiet enough to be put to bed, Kate (I have a feeling it was the mother more then the father), administered a sleeping sedative (they are both doctors or in that field at least) but the sedative was either too much or affected Maddie negatively because she was on other medication.
Now it was get rid of the body time and we know the story from there onwards.

The time between last sight and the missing child alert was not long enough to hide a body in the resort so well that there was no trace.

No idea but this whole thing just doesn't sit well. I would bet my dinner that they are guilty.

I just can't believe the parents would be able to put up a charade for years on end without one of them cracking - or one of the friends who were holidaying with them.
I believe they were watched and an opportunity taken by someone who knew them or at least knew the resort.

When she kept on asking about it the parents decided to stop her from talking.

You get all sorts of really messed up people out there. Take that Austrian dude that held his daughter captive in a basement for a couple of decades and fathered children with her. Really really messed up people out there.
I'm sure I've heard stories before of parents accidentally killing their children by hitting them in the wrong place or overdosing them. Would you, if this horrible thing was to happen by your hands and you have two other kids to take care off, really hand yourself over for something that was an accident?
Did anyone else except the parents see her after 20:00? When was the last time anyone else but the parents saw her alive?
I'm not saying they did it, but they very well could have.

I am shocked that the people here think some people, parents, are not capable of doing somehitng so horiffic.
It could have been an accident as well and then covered up.

The swingers bit came about after speculation about why they were on holiday with other families. Pretty ridiculous assumption to make but then the tabloids got hold of the assumption and ripped them to pieces. I personally don't think that the parents had anything to do with her disappearance. As you all keep saying, there are some twisted people out there - who like to kidnap little kids...
