Default Downloading of Popular Science with iPad

I purchase the July issue of this magazine which is 466.1 Mb in size. It is taking an eternity to download. Has anyone on this forum experienced this? I have a Telkom 1 Mb ADSL line and Mweb is my ISP.

    Newstand is buggy ...

Don't let anything interrupt it - so no screensaver and don't use the iPad for anything else
    Jägermeiʃter can fix that!

I rather use Zinio - they have a great collection of local and international magazines and they are not as large as 500Meg - Zinio also has some awesome magazine subscription deals every week. On a 1 meg line they download fine in Zinio..

Downloading 466mb file on a 1mb line will take forever, doesn't matter which program you use.

As Mweb does not have access to a local Akamai CDN edge server that Apple uses try to change the DNS server on your wireless router or iPad to:

    196.41.0.10
    196.41.0.11

But it takes 3 times as long with Apple.

Also make sure it's uncapped, because it uses 3 x as much data too. My first issue took 1.2GB and numerous hours and attemps

Never have any issues with Wired, National Geographic or Popular Science, we are on a 4mb line though.
As was said a 1mb is too slow.
