So, I just received a letter from our trustees / body corporate regarding cars parked "illegally". What exactly it means to be parked illegally, i'm not sure. I'll have to read our rules again, but i think mostly they are moaning about cars parked in the road.
Basically, there is very little space in the complex and most houses only have enough space for one car. Some have enough space in front of the house for another (although i'm not sure if this is allowed or not).

Part of the letter that they sent out said: "If the vehicle is still found to be parked illegally after the above two warnings, a sticker will be placed on the vehicle advising that the vehicle is illegally parked. The body corporate and trustees will not be held liable for any costs or damage which this sticker may cause to the vehicle."

My question for anyone that has some legal knowledge of sectional title, will it be legal for them to put stickers on a car (someone else's private property) and purposely damage the vehicle? For me that's kinda the same as someone smashing the windshield of a car that's parked on his private driveway/sidewalk (for a normal full title house that is)?

I'm not saying that ppl shouldn't get punished/fined for breaking complex rules, but threatening to start putting stickers on cars that could cause damage it is just taking it a bit to far isn't it?
Also, to make it a little but more difficult to swallow, it feels as though the trustees don't apply all the rules evenly for everyone...more of a selective "you're my friend, you may do that" kind of thing.
