Based on paper specs the Z5500s look better. Best to go read some reviews.

Haven't heard of them, maybe someone else can comment. About R800 cheaper than anyone else online, which does kinda raise the alarm IMO.

Good suggestion as you can always keep the amp and upgrade the speakers over time. Plus it has hdmi inputs which the Logitech doesn't.

I don't have my system connected to a PC

I'm a bit skeptical about the speakers you got. They look nice but I'm not sure how well they perform. The amp is great though, I can swear by it.

If they have HDMI in just use the HDMI out on your graphics card.

AFAIK not all cards will output the audio and the video signal so you may still have to use optical out.

Ive connected with optical cable and everything sounds greats, just struggling to get the true dts 5.1 from the optical input.
Ive updated the onboard realtek hd on my asus 98p67 motherboard and sounds beter. getting more sound effects.

The speakers are awsome for me. Compared to my Creative 2.1 35watt speakers. The Jamo Sub 200watt(2x drivers) and 50wx5 satelites rumbles my room when watching a blue-ray ripped version of avatar. whel i find it awsome. glad i didnt go with the logitects Z906.

    TX guys

I've seen if i play a rip (DVD or BlueRay) The person that ripped the Movie must include the 5.1 channel or you will just get stereo
