I bought my HD555's about 4/5 years ago for just under a grand. About 2 years ago, they started making a scratchy noise, which was due to the cable worn out right at the jack. Phoned them, and the next day a guy dropped a replacement cable off, at my home.
Best service evar.
Next time you guys are buying stuff that fell off trucks, please get me an HD800, I'll pay up to R2000 for it.
So y'all need to hide yo uzis, hide yo assault rifles and hide yo bazookas 'cos they disarmin' everybody out here!

I had to send my Sennheiser HD280 Pro's in for repair recently and their support was really top notch, really impressed which as you know is very hit and miss in SA.
Thanks for all the help guys. I got my HD558 today.
Yes.
But I recommend buying here, 3-4 day shipping from USA. Should work out to +-R1,700. Saving to go towards sound card.

Also Google Razordogdeals coupon, might be some more savings to be had.
Asus Xonar U3 is quite nice. With amp. Portable too (USB).
Asus Xonar DG PCI (also has an amp).
Anything really, since your 'phones are 50Ohm - they'll sound good with an un-amped sound card. Not at their best though.
Of course, if you can save up (and find) a Xonar Essence ST/X, that'd be my pick.
