    Default Skyrove, Mweb and Android

Has anyone managed to successfully use their free 500mb wifi from Mweb on a Skyrove hotspot?

I use Gconnect, then select Mweb and then put in my username and password. No go.

Using S3 and Chrome. Any ideas?

Does MWEB have a roaming agreement with Skyrove? If not, then it won't work.

Strange. When you log on to Skyrove and open the browser, it shows partners at the bottom. Among Skype and some others, it lists Gconnect.

When you select Gconnect it gives you the option to select Mweb from a list of providers. When you enter the login information it times out.

Is there some kind of an agreement with Gconnect to use your Mweb wifi minutes?

    Hi Cloud,

Yes Wireless G is one of our roaming partners and you should be able to log in via MWEB.
Could you please provide me with the name of the Skyrove hotspot that you are connecting to?
The name will be displayed on the portal page, otherwise the SSID will also do.

    Hi

It is the hotspot covering the Spur right next to the UCT Med Campus, the name escapes me. I think it is Eagle Eye Spur.

Aah yes, that hotspot was decommissioned some time ago.
It should not be showing as active, we will be removing it soon to prevent future issues such as this.
For a map of our other hotspots you can visit map.skyrove.com.
All the hotspots displayed there are active.

Mweb has free, fast & uncapped WiFi at N1 City Mall and it is available to everybody. It is a trial, so not sure how long it will last. Thank you MWEB.
    Love my Samsung Galaxy SIII
