Default Any chains discounting Vodacom prepaid airtime?

Does anyone know whether any of the large chains are currently discounting the very large R1,000 Vodacom prepaid airtime voucher? Many companies sell the smaller ones at a discount, but the only one I have managed to find locally who can issue the R1,000 voucher (at a 2% discount) is, improbably, my local Multiserv!

They won't discount if they plan to reduce tariffs. It would give you double benefits.

Sorry, I don't understand that response, am I missing something? Retailers often discount airtime (e.g. recently HiFi Corp offered some vouchers at up to 5% discount), which has nothing at all to do with Vodacom's actual tariffs.

Tariff reductions are a completely separate issue, and unless it has been missed in this forum, there are no specific 'plans to reduce tariffs' other than the usual and unpredictable adjustments the providers occasionally implement....

    No plans, sure?
If you want 5% discounts, PEP always on your side.

My previous experience was that I paid something like R975 at Shoprite for the R1000 voucher but when you load it you get R1100. So you effectively get a R125 discount on R1100 or more than 10%

Thanks for suggestions. My local Shoprite says there now no discounts on airtime generally. PEP does discount, but like most retailers, does not sell the R1,000 voucher.

I gave www.atlanticprepaid.co.za a look following their advertising of discounted airtime, but they actually sell the R1,000 voucher for R1045! They cheat by advertising the R1,000 voucher as a R1,100 vouchers, thus 'claiming' the standard discount Vodacom has always offered right from the beginning, as their own! New idea for their advertising: 'The only company in South Africa to sell you airtime at a surcharge!!' Wonder if anyone would be idiotic enough to actually buy that from them....
